Resumo: Latex allergy is still a public health problem responsible for some occupational diseases tough to be treated without removing the patient from his/her workspace. For patients allergic to latex, sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) for latex is a tool that can be very useful. We report the case of a nurse with latex allergy who underwent successful desensitization to latex by SLIT, and discuss about possible causes of the success of this therapy.
